Web hosting companies usually offer their users with 2 types of operating system to choose from: the Linux based hosting and the Windows based hosting. There are many users out there that are not technical enough to know the difference between the two. We shall make a brief comparison between these two operating systems: * Server Accees : With Linux, you are able to gain access to the server via the terminal with telnet or ssh access while you won’t be able to do that with Windows. Both OS comes with FTP access. * Cost : Linux is an open source program while Windows, as most of you would know, requires a paid license. * Ease of Move : It is easier to move a site hosted on a Linux OS to a Windows based hosting service than moving one from Windows to a Linux hosting service. * Security : Linux is known to be more secure than a Windows based hosting service. * Database : Linux commonly supports MySQL. So does Windows, but Windows also support ODBC, SQL Server and also Oracle. * Client Side Script : Both operating systems support HTML and Javascript. * Server Side Script : Both operating system support PHP but it is more commonly used in Linux based hosting. Bingo technology

If you are an avid fan of online bingo websites, like a lot of people out there are, and if you have an inquisitive mind, you might be wondering how exactly these bingo websites work. Above all, how they make the coding to make the pretty graphics and the mathematics behind the random numbers that come out. In truth, not all bingo websites have their own special coding. Most join a system of shared bingo platforms where the essential code is the same, what changes are things in the interface, mainly the colors, the name of the company, of course, and other design options. But the nuts and bolts behind the program are the same in many websites.

This isn’t a disadvantage for you at all, in fact, it’s a major advantage. This means that the bingo platform is guaranteed to be a quality one and it makes it easier for the authorities to make sure that everything is legal and by the book with it. You can imagine how it works. Instead of having specific code made for the website, the online bingo site will buy the program that’s already is use and guaranteed to work well and, at the same time, the regulating authorities can easily assure and be assured that the website is legal because they have tested the code before.

Green Web Hosting

Are you eco-friendly? Do you need a web host? Well, you are in luck! There are Eco-Friendly web hosts! What exactly are eco-friendly web hosts, and how are the different than regular web hosts? Why would you want to use a green web hosting provider? These are all very interesting questions, and you will receive the answers, just continue to read this article.

Eco-friendlly, also known as green, web hosting is relatively new. Eco-friendly web hosts, are exactly like any other web hosting site, but they are better for the environment. Green web hosting runs on two major sources. They are either solar powered, they run on wind or they are a mixture of both. When the server itself is run on solar or wind, it cuts down on electric usage, as you don’t have to plug a plug into an outlet, or turn a fan on. These both help the environment. Eco-friendly, green web hosting, can also be somewhat cheaper on your budget as well. Since they are eco-friendly, the less money and actual hosting company saves, the more money you save.
Choosing the right eco-friendly web host, is just as important as choosing a standard web hosting provider. Why? The process is the same, the same elements go into effect when looking into both hosting sites. You may also get a lot more for the money when you choose an eco-friendly web hosts. The price may also be cheaper. As with most other sites, the prices are generally by the month, which for companies, is usually the best way to pay.

If you’d like to be green friendly, possibly save money, help the planet, and get more for the money: look into a green web host.

Saving the right way

Saving the right way

For some people, saving means not spending money. This can work to an extent, but it will decrease your quality of life. After all, if you’re not spending money anywhere, why do you want to save up some in the first place? Truth is, this may not be the right way of saving money – although it does work, in the end – but it is the easiest. Actually saving money while still getting to buy what you want takes a lot more effort.

First comes balancing your budget. You can’t buy everything at once nor can you simply charge everything to your credit card without regards for how you’ll pay it. So you need to keep a close watch on your finances and decide when it’s the right time to make your purchases.

Then comes another rather difficult part: finding the best price available. Surely buying stuff from the nearest store is convenient, but it’s not the best way. You’ll really need to dig around and find the best prices, and they’re often found online. And remember to search for discount voucher websites as well. Things might seem a bit more expensive in Comet, for example, but if you find the right Comet discount codes you’ll see that it’s a much more attractive price.

Things To Think About Before Designing Your Website

Things To Think About Before Designing Your Website

When you are getting ready to do some web design, you are probably very excited about the site you are imagining building. But before you even begin looking at the computer you need to decide a few things about the website. You must decide exactly what the website will need to accomplish. Then you need to decide what age group you are working to attract.

If it is a younger, more tech-savvy group you can spend more time on flashy graphics, background music, and fun extras that will set the site apart. But if you are working for an older generation, or even a more middle-aged one, you need to be aware that the site needs to be user-friendly above all. You may have to sacrifice some of the fun things you had planned to keep the websites basic integrity and usefulness for this age group.

If you are working with someone, you also need to know whether you will be maintaining the site or handing it back to him or her once it is built. Will they need updates? Will they be able to do those alone? You have to make the site work for them and their needs. Be certain to sit down and hammer out these details and you will find your Glasgow web design goes along that much easier.

Broadband advice from BE

The helpful people at BE Broadband have produced a great series of videos giving advice and tips for getting the most out of your broadband connection. The lead character, Matt, clearly needs some help in optimising his connection!

Although somewhat strange, the videos do actually contain some useful advice, so if you’re wondering why your Internet is so slow and what you can do to improve things take a moment to watch these entertaining and rather surreal clips, they’re only about 2 minutes each.

In one of the clips it seems BE is having a bit of go at BT, but the main point is that switching providers won’t give you a faster connection – and that goes for any ISP. Distance from the exchange is the main factor, and changing to another service won’t affect that, so swap if you want to but do it because of the pricing or contract terms, not because a salesman has said you’ll get twice the connection speed!

There are also a couple of really important tips here that you might have missed while the guy dressed as a router was talking about pygmy porn. The first is to change your wireless channel. This setting is found within the router’s admin/control/management screen, and can solve lots of problems. So if your wireless won’t connect or is running slow, it’s a good idea to swap to another channel because a neighbour might have their router set to the same.
